I was perusing my Sunday morning Fav’s, annoyed that no-one has really written anything to give us any real insight into the 2009 Yankees. At least until I came across this Wallace Matthews Piece “Swish! Nothing but net for ebullient new Yankee.”
It appears that the Yankees may have found their replacement for the free spirited Giambi. Well worth the read if you have A-Roid fatigue; however, not sold on his tools. A career .244 hitter is not overly impressive, especially after he put up a blazing .219 last year and his SO numbers are very high.

However, when I look at his BB and OBP I see a guy with pretty good plate discipline. Additionally, he has a little more power than Nady. Should make for a good position battle.
