Memo to Arsene Wenger: Please Blame Arsenal for a Change
After listening to yet another Arsene Wenger moan about the opposition’s tactics, I felt I had to speak out.
Wenger told Sky Sports, "You can give them credit, they defended well, but I do not want to go overboard because if everybody plays like that it would be very boring in the Premier League."
Many people may well tell me the Arsenal boss was not moaning and I’m just jumping on the “Arsene Wenger is a moaner” bandwagon, but honestly, is he doing his side any favours?

My message to Arsene would be that sometimes your team just needs a kick up the arse, making excuses for them has only led to the continued underperformance of your side.
Yes, give Sunderland credit as their far less glamorous and quite frankly less skilled “team” just beat Arsenal, as a point for Sunderland at the Emirates, is a win.
West Ham United did the same and secured a 0-0 draw in Arsenal’s last home game and Arsenal have now drawn four league games in a row, so it would appear that the boring Premier League is in full swing.
I have no problem with lesser sides putting men behind the ball when visiting bigger sides or in important games, because football is not football anymore. Football is business and we have the top sides to thanks for that.
Simple fact is, Arsenal couldn’t beat Sunderland at home today, just like they couldn’t beat West Ham United home last time out. We know this, I’m sure Arsene knows this, but do his players?
It is time for Wenger to stop mothering his 20-, 30-, 40-thousand-pound-a-week players and give them a public verbal volley for a change.
Maybe then, they will have the determination needed to go that extra mile and grind out a victory.
