Kendall Fuller: 5-Star CB Sets Announcement Date, Will It Be Clemson or Va Tech?
With his decision being made this Sunday at the annual Gridiron Kings event, Kendall Fuller will have the opportunity to do what his older brothers, Corey and Kyle Fuller, couldn't.
The 5-star cornerback is faced with the decision that his older siblings were faced with years before him. Should he follow the family lineage at Virginia Tech or carve his own path? That family lineage of course hails from Kendall's oldest brother, Vincent Fuller.
Vincent played at Virginia Tech eight years ago, so the next oldest, Corey, had a lot of pressure riding on him. Corey initially chose to run track at Kansas, but later transferred to Virginia Tech, where he's a dual-sport athlete.
Kyle later followed in their footsteps, and now, both Kyle and Corey are on Virginia Tech's roster. Will Kendall do the same?
Sunday's the day we find out according to Fuller's Twitter post.
"I will be making my college decision sunday at noon live on ESPN3 at #GridironKings which will be replayed Sunday at 7:00 on #ESPNU
— kendall fuller (@KENyoufeelmee) July 27, 2012"
Fuller will choose between Virginia Tech and Clemson, and Fuller has recently told Rivals that its 50-50. But if the past has taught us anything, it's that these Fuller brothers can't avoid playing for the Hokies.
That's why I suspect Fuller will choose Virginia Tech Sunday, and even if he doesn't, a verbal doesn't lock him into playing for Clemson or any other school.
Heck, the No. 1 commit in the nation, Robert Nkemdiche told Rivals that he's still planning visits despite giving his verbal to Clemson. It's like as soon as a recruit commits, that makes them a bigger target for other schools and the same should happen with Fuller.
As I mentioned yesterday in a SSD post, Fuller said that he wants to visit USC, Michigan and perhaps LSU, if they would offer him. That's why his tweet came as a bit of a shock.
But then again, what's a verbal these days?
