WWE News: Report on Why Kharma Was Released

Sharon GlencrossJul 25, 2012

Hot on the heels of Kia "Kharma" Stevens confirming on her Twitter account that she has been released from her WWE contract, news has emerged about just why the former TNA Knockout was let go.

In this week's (subscribers-only) Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer gives an update on Kharma's departure, noting that sources have indicated she and WWE were having trouble coming up with the right idea for her long-awaited return to the company, as well as claims of some personal issues on her part:

The situation with Kharma is that she was in Florida training to return, but got the knock for being out of shape, hard to work with and stubborn about suggestions of how they wanted her to change her character. She had been losing weight.

"

Considering Kharma's immense talent (she is easily one of the best women's wrestlers in North America) and the dire state of the company's women's division, it is deeply regrettable that she and WWE could not put aside their differences and figure out some way to get her back on the main roster again.

It's not all bad, though.

Interestingly, in the tweet confirming her exit, the former Diva noted she would potentially be back in the company at some point in the future. Let's hope so.
