George M. Steinbrenner High School will open up its doors in August to welcome about 1,500 students. The school doesn't have a mascot, school colors, or a school motto. Hmm...

Mascot: Hank Steinbrenner or a drunk Billy Martin

School Colors: Navy blue and white

School Motto: "Winning is the most important thing in life, after breathing. Breathing first, winning next." —The Boss

There will be many different opinions on these topics. It’s really funny how the Yankees can dominate talk in Florida, when the team doesn’t even play there. Well, they play in Tampa for Spring Training, but the Rays aren’t getting enough respect. Actually, who cares?

School officials say they may hold a vote with the future students of the school. That’s pretty cool. I wish my high school was named after the owner of the Yankees.

My personal suggestions would be either the Mini-Bosses, the Costanzas, or the Fat Toads. And before everyone starts going on about how much I hate the Yankees, here are a few more serious proposals: the Bombers, the Pinstripes, or the Champs.
