Pro Wrestling Needs To Bring Back the Good Old Days!

Nick SignorelliFeb 19, 2009

This is my first article on wrestling, so, if you like it, and would like more, let me know.

Do you remember when wrestling was at its peak?  Back in the '90s, we had the WWE WCW Monday night wars. ECW was really extreme, and everyone flipped back and forth between Raw and Nitro?

Eric Bishoff stole Hall and Nash and started the NWO.  Raw lost in ratings for the first time ever.  There was competition, so everyone made sure to tune in every week. We are all getting tired of the same old story lines.  Every once in a while the programs swap talent, but not to a great degree.

Monday Night RAW

Here is what I think should happen.

At the end of WM25, Vince comes out on the mic.  Announces that tomorrow night on Raw, all WWE employees are required to be at the show.  The face of wrestling is going to change for ever.

Monday Night Raw.

Vince's music hits, and he struts out to the ring.  Vince says that, even though things are going good, business is business, and things need to improve. Vince calls out all three GM's.  Looks at Vicki Guerrero and says, you have to be kidding me?  You are the most annoying person I have ever seen in my life! YOU'RE FIRED!

Turns to Teddy Long, and says, even though you have done a decent job with ECW, it isn't what it is supposed to be. YOU'RE FIRED!

Looks at Stephanie, and says, sweetie, I love you, but YOUR FIRED!

Then after the crowd silences to a dull roar, Vince points out that Smackdown is officially off the air.  We need to bring a change to the show.  Starting this week, Smackdown is replaced by Friday Nitro.

It will have the old Nitro set.  We will bring back the Nitro girls, and the only person that can lead this show to what that show was is Eric Bishoff.

Bishoff's music hits and he comes to the ring.  Vince shakes his hand, and Bishoff makes some statement about he was the only person to ever beat Raw, and his ratings are going to start beating Raw.

Bishoff goes to the corner.

Vince says that ECW needs to once again be ECW.  It will be extreme, and introduces Paul Haymen as the new ECW GM.

Haymen comes out, shakes Vince's and Bishoff's hands, grabs the mic, and says that ECF'nW will be back to what it was.

Vince then says he has given a lot of thought to who should be Raws GM.  Only one man can make RAW the show that Raw is supposed to be.  Since he has no interest in being the GM, he can only give it to the biggest pain in the ass he has ever worked with.  You hear the glass break and here comes Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Austin hits the ring, walks over to Bishoff, and stares at him.  Bishoff moves out of the way so Austin can climb the ropes and pose.  Does the same thing with Haymen, then looks at Vince, and goes to his own corner.

Vince addresses that each GM is completely responsible for his own show.  Tonight we will have a draft, and every superstar is available to each show.  The order the man will draft will be a snaking order, starting with ECW.

ECW - First selection, Edge.  Edge is extreme enough to pull this off.

WCW -  Wanting the future of the business on his show, Eric Bishoff selects new WWE Champion, Randy Orton.

Raw - Steve Austin grabs the mic and says that he is going to draft the best wrestler today.  Triple H.

The draft goes back and forth and the rosters look somewhat like this.

WWE Raw.

HHH, Batista, Undertaker, Cena, Khali, Mr. Kennedy, Ezekiel Jackson.  The

WCW Friday Nitro.

Orton, Jericho, Kane, Big Show, Rhodes, DiBiasi, Umaga, Marc Henry.

ECW.

Edge, Christian, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, The Miz, Morrison, Jack Swagger.

(Those are just the headliners, the rest can be mix and matched through the shows.)

At the end of the show, Vince tells the new GM's that they each have one year.  There will be two PPV's per month.  They will alternate so that each show gets seven PPV's each year.  There will be no cross show rivalries.

At WM26, all three shows will compete.  The show that has the best performance during the year will get the Main Event to WM26.  The show with the worst ratings, the GM will be fired at WM26.

Vince shakes hands with Heyman, Bishoff, and turns to Austin. Austin stuns Vince, stuns Bishoff and Heyman.  WCW and ECW wrestlers run to the ring to help their new bosses.  WWE runs out to help Austin. Big fight ensues as the show goes off the air.

What do you think?  Would you watch?
