WWE Rumors: Triple H, Brock Lesnar, SmackDown Spoilers and Wednesday's WWE Buzz

Adam WellsJun 7, 2018

Looking at the calm before the proverbial storm, WWE has put so much stock into what happens on July 23, but what happens after that?

Let's not forget, Raw is moving to three hours permanently on Monday night. Ratings for three-hour Raws never do well because the first hour drags the rating down. With the company's not having the depth to fill two hours, it is going to be a test to fill three after you get past the 1,000th show.

It is easy to fill time when you have Brock Lesnar, D-X, The Rock, Mick Foley, Bret Hart, a wedding, an intercontinental title match, a WWE title match and any other surprises that may come.

You just have to wonder what happens when you don't have all those forces converging in one place.

While WWE may end up killing time, we will never let up with the latest news, rumors and information that you need to get through the day.

Triple H Ready to Bring Stephanie Back to TV?

Since WWE is the McMahon family baby and with Stephanie McMahon's having such a prominent role in the company, not to mention being married to Triple H, it would make some sense that she would make an appearance at Raw 1,000.

She teased something during a Twitter interview earlier this week:

"

@1TheRockHHH tune in at 8pm on USA and find out! #wwemoms

— WWEmoms (@WWEmoms) July 17, 2012"

Question on Everybody's Mind: Is Stephanie really coming back?

Our Take

I tend to think Stephanie is just using her poker face to try to draw in any viewers who might be on the fence. (Assuming Stephanie McMahon is the reason you aren't watching right now, which is laughable.)

She learned from her father not to ever give anything away, but I would be surprised to see her show up.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Wrestling Power Couples

There might be a scenario in which an appearance would work. Say, for instance, if Triple H gets laid out by Lesnar whenever the latter gives an answer to the SummerSlam challenge.

To make it feel "real," I can see Stephanie coming out and aiding Triple H.

WWE Worried About Lesnar-Triple H Rivalry

When you have a star performer who works only a handful of days, there are going to be times when his feuds get pushed to the side.

Lesnar falls into the category, as he has the best contract in the history of the business.

WWE reportedly feels that all the time off for both Lesnar and Triple H could make their angle on Raw come off flat.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Is WWE being rational?

Our Take

I think WWE seriously underestimates the power of Lesnar and Triple H. Undertaker and Triple H just kind of showed up on television in January, and their angle worked fine.

As long as the promos are good, nothing that happened before will really matter to the people in the building.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Reasons to Panic

If I were WWE, I would be more concerned about just how big Lesnar can be. The Cena angle, and I will keep saying it, really did a lot more damage to his standing in WWE than anything else.

Lesnar became just another guy who can't beat Cena instead of something more on that night.

SummerSlam to Be Chris Jericho's Last Stand?

In the weekly rumor about Jericho's future, reports have come out that "The Best In the World at Everything He Does" is not booked on any WWE shows after SummerSlam.

We all knew that Fozzy's tour was going to start soon, and now we have some idea about his schedule.

Question on Everybody's Mind: How long will Jericho be gone?

Our Take

I can say, with no inside information, that I don't expect this to be the end of Jericho's latest WWE run. It is interesting to note that Fozzy isn't booked for any dates on Mondays, but the tour lasts through September, so if he does go away, expect him back in October.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Face Turns

I do like the possibilities of what Jericho's leaving could mean.

With Jericho's entering a feud with Dolph Ziggler, at least based on what happened on Raw, WWE could make Ziggler look strong in a match at SummerSlam and send Jericho out in style.

Update On Jericho's Future (PW Insider h/t NoDQ)

****WARNING****

THE FOLLOWING SECTION CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM THIS WEEK'S SMACKDOWN TAPING. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW, SKIP THE NEXT AREA.

Dolph Ziggler Still Getting Destroyed

Despite my insistence that WWE should be helping him, poor Dolph Ziggler is still made out to be a second-class citizen in WWE.

In the tag-team main event featuring Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus and Rey Mysterio, Ziggler got laid out after a DQ finish, thanks to a 619 right into a brogue kick.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Does WWE have any interest in making Mr. MITB look strong?

Our Take

If WWE were going to really get behind Ziggler, it would have happened seven months ago when he was wrestling CM Punk at the Royal Rumble.

He didn't have to win that match, but he wound up unofficially losing four times.

That was the beginning of the end, and this only confirms that his push is not going to be very good.

Hype Meter: 1 out of 5 Zig Zags

If WWE is going to keep having Ziggler look like a mid-card wrestler who can't keep up with the big boys, then don't put the briefcase on him.

I can easily see a scenario in which Ziggler either cashes in the briefcase and loses or wins the title and has a Jack Swagger-esque run.
