Below the Belt: Kevin Muscat Stamps on Daniel Mullin's Ass

A short clip from Sunday’s A-League playoff meeting between the Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United.

The Victory cruised to the A-League Grand Final winning their playoff 6-nil on aggregate.

Despite the certainty of the win captain Kevin Muscat, a man who never seems too far away from a contentious incident, decided that he needed to be aggressive all the way till the final whistle. The centre-half was caught stamping on Daniel Mullin’s ass in the final stages on the match.

Mullin was attempting to break into the box in the inside left channel, when the midfielder was felled just outside the box by Muscat.

Despite a clear whistle from the referee signalling a foul had been committed an over-excited Muscat continued to try and win possession, and in doing so the cameras snapped the defender planting his boot right on the cheeks of his fallen opponent.

Fortunately for Muscat, neither the ref or his assistant saw the incident.

Kevin Muscat’s “bum-stamp” can be seen here.

In a separate incident from the same match, Adelaide’s Brazilian midfielder Cassio ended his season on a sour note after being sent off for two reckless fouls during the match.

After he received his second booking, an unhappy and visibly frustrated Cassio exited the pitch but not before he saluted the home crowd with a “f*** y**” gesture.

Cassio’s gesture of appreciation to the home crowd can be seen here.
