Greenbrier Classic 2012: Leaderboard Updates, Highlights and More
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson headline a star-studded field of golfers set to tee off at the 2012 Greenbrier Classic on Thursday.
The PGA Tour doesn't make too many stops in West Virginia, and with so many big names playing in this tournament, expect some enormous crowds at the The Old White TPC.

Ted Potter, Jr. outlasted Troy Kelly in a three-hole playoff to take home The Greenbrier Classic title.
In the playoff, both Potter and Kelly parred holes No. 18 and 17, but when they went back to 18, Kelly made par and Potter sunk a five-foot birdie putt for the win.
It is his first career PGA Tour win.
Webb Simpson, who looked unstoppable coming into the day, shot an atrocious three-over 73 to lose his big lead. He fell all the way to a tie for seventh place, opening up the field for players to make a run at the win.

UPDATE: Saturday, July 7 at 7:46 p.m. ET by Richard Langford
Webb Simpson is destroying the course that proved to be so difficult that both Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods could not make the cut. Simpson is 14-under par and in first place after Round 3.
Simpson has been steady and amazing in his three rounds. He fired his second 65 of the tournament on Saturday, and he put those two rounds on either side of a 65.
This is Simpson's tournament to lose. He has a two-stroke lead, but there are five players within two shots. So if Webb has some Sunday struggles, at least one of those guys will be ready to wrestle the lead away from him.

Players to Watch
Tiger Woods
Woods' challenge for the remainder of the season is to be more consistent, and he can take another step toward this goal by winning at the Greenbrier Classic.
Anytime Woods enters a tournament after a win the previous week, he automatically becomes a favorite to win again.
Jim Furyk
After he wasn't able to finish the US Open as well as he would have liked, expect Jim Furyk to be one of the more focused golfers at the Greenbrier Classic.
Furyk is always a contender to win any PGA Tour event, especially at a course like The Old White TPC, which suits his game perfectly.
