How To Improve WWE Raw
Recently, I wrote an article on how to improve ECW, but while that left many possible questions and debates I wondered about the WWE's other brands, RAW and Smackdown. This article will focus in on RAW while tomorrow's article (look out for it) will feature the blue brand.
At the moment RAW is pretty interesting, you have got an interesting world title picture, a hot angle between Orton and the McMahon's, JBL and HBK fighting as employer and employee, Punk vs. Regal, Knox and Mysterio, and of course Jericho and Flair/Mickey Rourke.
From what I can see this is a very strong base of feuds to carry the brand at least until the draft.

But there are still flaws that a few simple tweaks and some more extreme changes would improve RAW by 100%.
Here is what I think would improve RAW:
1. Jim Ross back on commentary and the exhalation of Michael Cole.
Okay so this is a simple one. In my opinion Jim Ross is the voice of live wrestling, the voice of RAW and the voice of wrestling in general. His voice brings a far bigger feeling of a "big match" and he is able to tell the story of the match like no other man alive.
Michael Cole, however, while I don't think he is horribly bad (better than Mike Adamle) is out of his depth on RAW and suits the second show feeling of Smackdown much better.
2. More wrestling and less replays, promos etc.
How many times do you watch RAW and get frustrated by the amount of times they show Orton punt McMahon in the head, a video promoting Wrestlemania which we have seen 10 times already or a video promoting Cena's latest movie?
Add all the time this takes and you are looking at a good 15 minutes per show. Now in my book that is worth 2 more matches a night or at least the progression of storylines rather than recaps.
3. Use the Intercontinental title better
This title in my opinion is being totally wasted. it used to be a major championship that upper mid carders and main eventers fought over. Then fair enough, it became a belt that helped to push younger stars like Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy, but now it is seen infrequently on RAW sometimes not at all.
It has nearly become what the European championship was 10 years ago, trash.
So my idea is this. Build a sizable division, have regular defenses and No. 1 contender fights, put younger stars over and have it defended on pay per view (when was the last time the IC title was defended on PPV)?
4. Develop younger stars
This is a major problem the WWE are facing. Who is going to rise through the ranks and main event in the WWE?
On the RAW brand I can see only 3 or 4 possible future main eventers, Dibiase, Punk, Kingston and Rhodes. Like the use of the Intercontinental championship, younger stars need to be put over.
I know that Kane certainly does but who else puts young guys over? JBL sometimes, HBK doesn't and Batista doesn't. Could you imagine if Batista put over DiBiase how much of a push that would give him or how it would fasten his quest to superstardom?
Again these are my personal thoughts dislike or like them as you want!
