WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, John Cena and Thursday's WWE Buzz

Adam WellsJun 7, 2018

WWE is very much a dictatorship. Vince McMahon has the authority to play judge, jury and executioner with any segment, any angle, any wrestler that he wants. With him wielding that kind of power, it makes sense that things would be so chaotic week to week.

McMahon is getting older and beginning to lose what little grasp on reality he has left. Storytelling was never his strong suit, yet he has managed to make it work on occasion in WWE. Now, with so many different writers and minds trying to attack a topic with McMahon's vision, it makes sense that you would have so many balls in the air.

There are a lot of reasons why WWE can't keep a story straight, but one of the biggest is McMahon's insistence on constantly re-writing shows up until they tape.

We will always keep our story straight, with all the news and information you can handle coming right at you.

BROCK LESNAR WILL BE BACK SOONER RATHER THAN LATER

After yesterday's news about Lesnar being advertised for the SummerSlam go-home show, it turns out there is a very strong possibility he will be back before that. Specifically, the 1000th Raw from St. Louis on July 23.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What will Lesnar do when he returns?

Our Take: In order to build the SummerSlam match with Triple H, look for him to have some devilish plan to get in The Game's head. The most obvious scenario would have Lesnar attacking Shawn Michaels, who is expected to return.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 UFC Champions

No matter what else is going on in WWE, Lesnar has a knack for bringing his A-game on any show he performs on. He was the best part of Raw for four weeks before going on his hiatus. Getting him back will be a shot in the arm for the company.

RANDY ORTON WILL MAKE FANS FORGET ABOUT LESNAR

With Lesnar possibly returning on July 23, Randy Orton is going to have a lot of work to do in order to show fans that he is just as cool. He will likely have his chance on July 30, as WWE has pulled Orton from advertisements for the July 24 SmackDown tapings and is expected back July 30.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What is Orton going to do upon returning?

Our Take: With so much talk about WWE not pushing him, I think WWE is going to look at the SmackDown title situation and realize that Orton is too valuable as a draw to put him in the mid-card.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Fallen Vipers

Orton's apparently bleak future will appear to be nothing more than talk. WWE knows how valuable he is. Vince McMahon will bury 100 other guys before Orton, regardless of why Orton was suspended. WWE has a golden opportunity to build up one of its biggest stars.

FORMER STAR LIKENS JOHN CENA TO TIGER WOODS

There was a time when being compared to Tiger Woods was the best compliment you could give an athlete. Now, it has a completely different connotation. Kenn Doane, a.k.a. Kenny Dykstra, gave an interview where he said that Cena is the Tiger Woods of WWE. If you read the entire interview, you will understand where that comparison comes from.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Should Cena's personal life change perception of him?

Our Take: Hell no. I could care less what these people are like in real life. Not everyone is a "nice" person. Shawn Michaels was the biggest ass in the world in the 1990s, yet he was the best wrestler WWE had and no one could say differently.

Hype Meter: 2 out of 5 Sports Analogies

Cena's biggest problem isn't that he might be a major player backstage with the divas. His problems are with his on-screen character, and how there is nothing genuine about anything he says.

BRET HART UNSURE FOR 1,000TH RAW

With WWE likely being all hands on deck for the 1,000th Raw, Bret Hart would figure to be a shoo-in, given his role with the company when the show first started back in 1993. Yet he has said that no one has contacted him yet.

Question on Everybody's Mind: WWE can't let The Hitman slide through the cracks, right?

Our Take: Of course not. WWE is nothing if not nostalgic. Having Hart, Michaels and (potentially) Undertaker on the same show, all of whom were on the first show, is an opportunity too good to miss.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Sharpshooters

While it would likely be difficult to get all three of them in the same segment, WWE has to find a way to make time for Hart, Michaels and Undertaker. This will help illustrate just how far the show has come in the last 19 years.
