Jerry Sandusky Trial: Pedobear Has No Place at Center County Courthouse

The Jerry Sandusky trial hardly needed another wisp of insanity, but that is exactly what has been delivered in the form of a grown man dressed in a Pedobear costume taking to the steps of the Center County Courthouse. 

The Patriot News reports the Internet mascot of pedophiles made an appearance at the Sandusky Trial on Wednesday morning. 

Of course, there is a huge split in how people take Pedobear, and the report makes the same stipulation. 

Penn State reporter Ben Jones tweets this to the masses.

Later in the day, Jones finds people needing to actually interview the mascot.

This report from SF Gate warned parents the Pedobear is a dangerous mascot that lurks where pedophilia reports are present. 

I am not one to subscribe to the thought. I just think it's an idiot in a costume trying to make light of the situation. 

The SF Gate report reminds us where the Pedobear originated:

He got his start on a site called 4chan, an image-based bulletin board where anyone can post comments and share images. He has since turned into an Internet meme and become shorthand for “Stop being creepy about kids.”

What Pedobear actually means depends on who you talk to, but even taken as a pedophile-mocking mascot, there is still no place for this kind of lunacy at a trial filled with the stuff. 

I will be the first to claim there is humor in every situation. If there is some rare place to find a therapeutic laugh amid the somber reality of this mess, the Pedobear is not it.
