The United States Women’s National Team flexed its muscle at the Volvo Winner’s Cup in Sweden and proved why it will not be beat in the upcoming Olympics.

The tournament was a round robin involving just the United States, Sweden and Japan. In the Americans’ most recent game, they crushed Japan 4-1.

Alex Morgan and Abby Wambach each scored two goals and these two players will lead the team to a gold medal later this summer.

Against Japan, each star grabbed a goal in the first 10 minutes of the match. The Japanese took one back in the 26th minute, but the United States continued to dominate in the second half.

Wambach and Morgan dominated the United States’ first match of the tournament as well. Against Sweden, both players had scored before the 22-minute mark. The team went on to win 3-1.

Morgan has been a revelation for the team since the 2011 World Cup, scoring in nine of the United States’ 14 games in 2012.

Wambach has been the team’s best player for several years and is showing no sign of slowing down at 32 years old. She has scored in eight of the 14 matches this year.

These two attackers are storming into the Olympics with loads of confidence. They are in goal-scoring form and were able to easily dance around two of the best teams in the world.

There is no defense in women’s soccer that can guard both Wambach and Morgan. Wambach is too powerful and Morgan is too fast. They are excellent complements to each other and will continue to dominate as long as Wambach keeps playing.

The United States will march into London as the favorites, and it is because of these two players. Wambach and Morgan will also be the reason that the team cruises to a gold medal.

They easily beat two of the best teams in the world in a tune-up for the Olympics and they will continue to show that they are a cut above the rest of the competition.
