Chelsea Transfer News: PSG Prepare Bid for Hulk That Could Eclipse Chelsea's
This season's runners up in Ligue 1, Paris St. Germain, are looking to make a bid for Porto striker Hulk, according to the Daily Mail.
Hulk has been the talk of the town around Stamford Bridge of late, and although not all Chelsea fans rate the Brazilian as highly as Abramovich and the rest of the Chelsea boardroom—who are collectively willing to fork out £38 million to bring the Porto man to London—seem to, he would be a healthy addition to the side.
It seemed a couple of weeks ago a near certainty that Hulk would eventually end up moving to the Blues, even going so far as to ask his current club to allow him to move to Chelsea.

However, last week's developments changed all of that. Hulk's agent, Teodoro Fonseca, came out and openly admitted that not only would Porto do all that they could to hold onto their player, but also that other unnamed big European clubs were interested in acquiring Hulk's services.
Today it was revealed that at least one of those clubs is PSG, who are willing to make an incredible £43 million bid for Hulk.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who is beginning to wonder if we have another Manchester City or Real Madrid on our hands here. The transfer market has been inflated badly enough over the past few years to the extent where someone like Andy Carroll—a man with no proven pedigree above the level of the middle of the Premier League—can cost a side £35 million.
Hulk is a very good player. But one has to ponder whether he is really worth £43 million to any side. Even the £38 million price tag that Chelsea have put on his head is a considerable amount for a man who is at times heavily criticised, and who also has never played in one of Europe's top leagues.
This seems like almost a panic bid by PSG, who have so far failed to sign Gonzalo Higuain, Carlos Tevez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexandre Pato this window. It's almost like they want to make a statement to the world by bringing in a big name for an exorbitant amount.
As for Chelsea, if they do fail to sign Hulk, then there are always other options. The Blues have recently been linked with Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic, who some fans might say is a better value for money buy.
Whoever the Blues end up signing on top of their already notable additions to the squad this summer, I'm sure Roberto Di Matteo will get them working hard and producing excellent results for a dangerous-looking Chelsea side.
