WWE No Way out 2012: Seeds Planted for a Tag Team Revival

Michael PrunkaJun 3, 2018

One of the highlights of No Way Out was a match that wasn't announced until the pre-show event on YouTube. A Fatal Four-Way tag team match took place to crown the new No.1 contenders for R-Truth and Kofi Kingston's WWE Tag Team Championships.

Titus O'Neil and Darren Young, known as the Prime Time Players, defeated Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel, Primo and Epico, and The Usos in a very entertaining match.

Their victory wouldn't have been possible without the help of Abraham Washington, who turned on Primo and Epico to help give the Prime Time Players the win. That alone was a huge step in the right direction because it set up the first feud in the tag team division in a long time.

Primo and Epico must be fuming. A.W. has now cost them two shots at getting the titles back and was behind the post-match beating they got from O'Neil and Young. Perhaps Primo and Epico will get involved and cost the Prime Time Players their shot at the gold.

Now that Justin Gabriel has returned from injury, he and Tyson Kidd can resume their quest for the Tag Team Championships. They put on a great showing in this match and proved that they can work well as a team.

The Usos also held their own in the Fatal Four-Way. They may not have won the match, but they were arguably the most efficient and experienced team in the bunch. Judging by the crowd reaction, Jimmy and Jey were the most popular team, too. The Samoan twins shouldn't have any trouble bouncing back.

Not only was this match very fun to watch, it gave fans of tag team wrestling some hope. The four teams worked well together to put on an excellent, pay-per-view-quality match. Most importantly, we saw the beginnings of an actual feud within the tag division.
