WWE: 5 Blasts from the Past Who Should Appear on Raw
Last Monday night, past Raw superstar Vader returned to WWE and faced Heath Slater in a singles match.
As Michael Cole stated last night on SmackDown, each week going forward, more superstars from Raw's past are expected to appear on Raw in celebration of the upcoming 1000th episode of Monday Night Raw.
With that said, let's take a look at five former Raw stars who should appear on Raw in the coming weeks.
If you can think of anybody not on the list, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section.
Honorable Mentions
1 of 6Tatanka
Val Venis
The Godfather
Viscera
APA (Ron Simmons and JBL)
Shane McMahon
Koko B. Ware
Diesel
"The Model" Rick Martel
IRS and Ted DiBiase (Money Inc.)
Animal
Lita
Trish Stratus
Eugene
Doink the Clown
2 of 6Someone who is featured heavily on the "Raw 'The Beginning': The Best of Seasons 1 & 2" DVD is Doink The Clown.
The Doink character has been used by several wrestlers, but the first and longest-running wrestler to portray the Doink character is Matt Osborne.
I will always remember Doink for his pranks and feud with Crush. One of the most traumatizing moments in WWE history for me was when Doink attacked Crush with a prosthetic arm. You can watch a video of that incident here.
As for who Doink should face on Raw, he should definitely face Santino Marella or Ricardo Rodriguez—two clowns in their own right.
1-2-3 Kid
3 of 6One of the most memorable moments in Raw history was when a supposed jobber (Sean Waltman aka X-Pac) named "The Kid" scored a huge upset over Razor Ramon—who had dominated the entire match. You can watch the match here.
After the match, "The Kid" became known as the "1-2-3 Kid." He eventually left WWE for WCW (where he was known as Syxx) but later returned to WWE as X-Pac.
As for who 1-2-3 Kid should face on Raw, he should face Hunico.
Note: The Kid's still got it. Watch this video from 2011.
Rikishi
4 of 6Before there was the Funkasaurus, there was Rikishi—father of Jimmy and Jey Uso.
Like Brodus Clay, Rikishi is a big man. Like Brodus Clay, Rikishi would dance. Like Brodus Clay's Funkadactyls, Rikishi had Too Cool—Scotty Too Hotty and Grand Master Sexay.
On countless episodes of Raw, Rikishi would stand over an incapacitated opponent in the corner of the ring and plant his ample buttocks on their face.
Who wouldn't want to see Rikishi return to Raw for at least one night and give Michael Cole or John Laurinaitis the stink face?
The New Age Outlaws
5 of 6"Oh you didnt know? Your a** betta call somebody!
It's the Road Dogg Jesse James, the Bada** Billy Gunn, The New Age Outlaws!
And if you're not down with that, we've got two words for ya!
"
The New Age Outlaws were undoubtedly one of the greatest tag teams of all time—becoming the tag team "champions of the world" five times.
The team will return in the WWE '13 video game, but hopefully they make an appearance on Raw in the coming weeks.
As for who they should face, they should face Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins.
Goldberg
6 of 6Bill Goldberg's golden years were definitely during his time in WCW, but he had some great moments in WWE as well.
One of Goldberg's greatest WWE moments happened on the March 31, 2003 episode of Raw (his debut)—where he speared The Rock. You can watch a video of the incident here.
Goldberg left WWE after his match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX, and hasn't been seen in WWE since.
Perhaps Goldberg should return for at least one night on Raw.
As for what Goldberg should do, here's an idea:
Ryback has just finished eating three jabronis for dinner. Ryback repeatedly yells, "Feed. Me. More."
All of a sudden, Goldberg's music hits.
Goldberg comes out and spears Ryback.
Just kidding.
Thanks for reading! Share your thoughts! Who would you like to see return to Raw?
