Jeter Waiting to Address A-Roid Situation
When the news broke on the Alex Rodriguez steroid scandal, Derek Jeter said he would give his teammate the benefit of the doubt and address the situation after A-Rod had his chance to respond.
Well, A-Rod had his chance when he sat down with Peter Gammons yesterday, but Jeter still isn’t talking. He is waiting until spring training officially starts.
He said he is just trying to be fair and will wait for all the media to show up in Tampa, so he can address it with everyone at once and get the situation over with.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
“I’m not addressing Alex’s situation until everybody is here,” Jeter said today after working out at the Yankees’ minor league complex. “If you’ve got baseball questions, I’ll do that. If I talk to you guys today, then tomorrow three more people. It’s better just to get everybody together.”
This is vintage Jeter. He is waiting to do it so he only has to once and be done with it for good. After that point, any members of the media who have questions for the captain are going to be out of luck because they’re not going to get much out of him.
“I’m not going to do it every single day,” Jeter said. “People talk about, are things a distraction? It’s a distraction when you talk about it every single day.”
Jeter did say that he hopes this whole situation will pass quickly, and hopes that it will bring him and his team together.
“I think a lot of times with situations where there’s controversy, a lot of guys pull for each other and come together. That’s what you hope for in this situation,” Jeter said.
Hopefully this helps to put the situation in the past as quickly as possible. Personally ,I would prefer to talk about baseball at this point.
I don’t like it that A-Rod took steroids, and I hope this means he never gets into the hall-of-fame, but that doesn’t mean we need to focus on this forever.
