Euro 2012 TV Schedule: Start Times and Coverage for Weekend Group Matches

Adam WellsJun 7, 2018

As we approach the second weekend of action in the 2012 UEFA European Championship, things are about to get very interesting.

Four matches are scheduled to take place—two in Group A and two in Group B. While there may not appear to be a lot of drama in Group A, Group B—a.k.a. "The Group of Death"—is always fascinating to watch.

Here is a look ahead to this weekend's action, complete with start times, television schedules and much more.

Saturday, June 16

Group A

Czech Republic vs. Poland 2:45 p.m., ESPN (Stadion Miejski, Poland)
Greece vs. Russia 2:45 p.m., ESPN 2 (National Stadium, Poland)

What To Watch For In Group A

Poland is fighting for its life against the Czech Republic. The squad enters this final group stage match two points behind Russia and one behind the Czech Republic in Group A.

Both squads are going to be fighting and clawing for position, and hopefully make it to the knockout phase of the tournament. This will be the best match of the day, easily.

Sunday, June 17

Group B

Portugal vs. Netherlands 2:45 p.m., ESPN (Metalist Stadium, Ukraine)
Denmark vs. Germany 2:45 p.m., ESPN 2 (Arena Lviv, Ukraine)

What To Watch For In Group B

Portugal and Denmark are in a dead heat for the No. 2 spot in the "Group of Death" heading into Sunday's matches. Both have three points, while Germany is setting the pace with six.

In fact, here is how closely matched Portugal and Denmark are right now: Both have played two matches, won one, lost one, scored three goals and given up three goals.

Considering how strong Germany has looked through two matches, you have to think that Portugal has the advantage to make it out of the group stage. Either way, it makes for some great drama in both matches.
