SEC Football Tweets of the Week: Nkemdiche Commitment Lights Up Internet
The big recruiting news this week was the the commitment of Grayson (Ga.) High School defensive end Robert Nkemdiche. The nation's No. 1 overall recruit committed to play for the Clemson Tigers over finalists including Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia and Mississippi State.
The Twitterverse erupted over the announcement. That attention impressed Nkemdiche.
"I'm trending world wide .
— Robert Nkemdiche (@Robertusmagna_1) June 14, 2012"
So, why Clemson?
The always-enlightening Friends of the Program thinks it has something to do with Clemson's proximity to Lake Hartwell.
"I guess Nkemdiche loves to wakeboard.
— FriendsoftheProgram (@FOTProgram) June 14, 2012"
Has there ever been a dual-sport football/wakeboarder?
Bleacher Report's Adam Kramer was influenced by Nkemdiche to make a commitment of his own.
"Robert Nkemdiche's verbal means as much as mine does at this moment. (For the record, I'm committing to bourbon shortly)
— Adam Kramer (@KegsnEggs) June 14, 2012"
If you're wondering what type of music Tyler Bray listens to before games, it may be something from the early days of MTV.
"The outfield your love is always a great way to start the day. 95.7 always with the jamz. #itsfriday
— Tyler Bray (@tbrayvol8) June 15, 2012"
Kwame Geathers is behind John Jenkins at nose tackle on Georgia's preseason depth chart. Judging from this picture from wide receiver Tavarres King, it's hard to imagine why.
"Kwame just ate the flesh off of this Person.. Watch out QBs instagr.am/p/L0S56Ql4pT/
— Tavarres King (@TKUnoDos) June 13, 2012"
Bray better hope that he doesn't hear "Maneater" by Hall & Oates the day of the Georgia game.
And we can't let the week end without bringing up Alabama's AJ McCarron and LSU's Tyrann Mathieu Twitter war.
Have a good weekend, SEC fans.
