US Open 2012 Tee Times: Complete Listings for Tiger Woods and More
The first round of the 2012 US Open is in the books, and golf fans are now looking forward to today’s Round 2 action.
There is a lot to watch for as some of the best golfers in the world vie to remain near the top of the leaderboard or avoid the impending cut that will take place after the day ends.
Let’s take a look at some of the stars that still have a chance to win this thing and when they are hitting the links.
Full list of Round 2 tee times can be found at ESPN.
Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald, Lee Westwood – 10:44 a.m. ET
Rory, Luke and Lee all had some tough outings at Olympic Club in San Francisco. McIlroy is last year’s US Open champ and is seven-over par after the first round. That is good for a T-109, and he has to do better if he wants to remain in contention.
Donald didn’t fare any better, going +9 after the day while Westwood actually had the “finest” round, ending at just +3.
Michael Thompson, Colt Knost, Steve Marino – 3:52 p.m. ET
Thompson isn’t a household name, but he may be soon if he wins this tournament.
The 27-year-old Arizona native is four-under so far, and three strokes up on the nearest competitor.
The other members of this threesome didn’t follow his lead. Colt Knost is +5 and Steve Marino is in third-to-last with a +15.
Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson – 4:18 p.m. ET
Tiger was the pre-tourney favorite and has lived up to his billing. He’s -1 right now, which ties him for second with four other golfers. He’s been hitting the ball well and looks extremely resilient on the course.
If he keeps this up, there is no doubt he’ll make a move to the top sooner than later.
Phil and Bubba haven’t had the best go at it, ending at +6 and +8, respectively. It’ll be interesting to see if they can get it together and make the cut.
