US Open Golf 2012: Twitter Reacts to Tiger Woods' Opening Round Performance
Tiger Woods finished his opening round at one-under, putting him three strokes behind the leader, Michael Thompson.
He hasn't lit the course on fire today, but he's been steady, to say the least.
The rest of the trio, Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson, looked like they didn't get enough sleep last night. Mickelson went to the clubhouse at six-over par, while Watson left himself in an even worse position, finishing at eight-over par.
The Twitter-verse never sleeps, though, and took note of Woods' performance in his quest to win his second tournament in a row.
Here are the best tweets from Tiger's first round of the U.S. Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.
The Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman shed some light on a possible Phil-Tiger spat before they teed off:
"Tiger Woods walks right by Phil Mickelson on range, doesn't look at him. Mickelson looks at his back as he walks away #rivalry
— Kelly Tilghman (@KellyTilghmanGC) June 14, 2012"
This Tiger fan knows that when Woods starts making putts, he can easily run away from the competition:
"Haven't seen Tiger Woods play this well in awhile. Great tempo in swing. Everything looks in sync. And now he's making putts. Look out.
— Bill Cooney (@BillCooney4653) June 14, 2012"
The ever-funny Jason Whitlock shared his groundbreaking input on Tiger's first round:
"Tiger Tiger Woods, y'all!

Greg Anthony letting everyone know that we have a crazy day of sports ahead of us:

Bleacher Report writer Chris Trapasso gives us his prediction for Tiger:
"I'm an unabashed Tiger Woods fan (of his play) but I truly believe he's comfortable w/ his swing & has confidence back. Picking him to win.
— Chris Trapasso (@ChrisTrapasso) June 14, 2012"
Bubba Watson was all jokes before he teed off. Maybe he should have watched from the clubhouse:
"Thinking about WDing from US Open cause I want to watch @TigerWoods & Phil on tv. But I forgot I got the best seat in da house!! #CrazyFan
— bubba watson (@bubbawatson) June 14, 2012"
Spot on evaluation by Edward Dentzel:
"#philmickelson looks very old on the course today. And 2012 #tigerwoods now looking like 2000 tiger woods.
— Edward Dentzel (@DentzelDomain) June 14, 2012"
Even Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was interested in Tiger today:
"Looking forward to watching Phil, Bubba, and Tiger today! Anybody know the tee time?
— Mike Vick (@MikeVick) June 14, 2012"

One of Tiger's best shots of the day came on the 5th hole. See for yourself.
