NBA Finals Schedule 2012: TV and Live Stream Info for Thunder vs. Heat Game 2

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

Game 2 of the 2012 NBA Finals begins tonight and there are a lot of interesting subplots and other things to keep an eye out for during the contest between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat.

The two best players in the league—Kevin Durant and LeBron James—and their sidekicks—Russell Westbrook and Dwyane Wade—will be battling to take control of the series.

If OKC ends up on top, they will have built a nice cushion going into a long road trip to South Beach.

Miami can gain the advantage and actually close out the Finals at home if they are able to steal this game and then go undefeated at American Airlines Arena.

Let’s take a look at where you can watch this exciting matchup and what each side must do to win.

Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK

When: Thursday, June 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET

Watch: ABC

Live Stream: ESPN3

Keys to Heat Win

Lock Down Kevin Durant

It doesn’t matter if Russell Westbrook burns them or James Harden hits a few deep jumpers, the Heat cannot let KD catch fire.

He’s a stone cold killer on the court and eviscerated Miami in Game 1 with 17 points in the fourth quarter. The Heat cannot let that happen again or this series will be over before they know it.

Pick on Kendrick Perkins

When Perk is on the court, the Heat need to go small and force the unathletic big to come out of the paint.

Chris Bosh can sit and hit mid-range shots all day and even proved he has three-point range against the Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals.

They need to take advantage of this to clear the lane in order for LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to drive to the basket.

Keys to Thunder Win

Keeping Attacking

Now that OKC has a win under their belt, they cannot let off the gas. They have to attack the rim as aggressively as they did in Game 1 and must not start settling for jumpers.

If the squad keeps the intensity up—and they should have no problem feeding off the crowd—they will emerge victorious.

Keep Defending

In the second half of Game 1, OKC just dominated Miami defensively. They seemed to want it more and played harder down the stretch.

That sort of tenacious defense is what wins championships and the Thunder are poised to get one if they keep it up.
