AC Milan Owner Silvio Berlusconi to Reject PSG's Offer for Thiago Silva
According to reports, AC Milan will hold on to center back Thiago Silva as club president Silvio Berlusconi will reject the offer from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 27-year-old Brazilian has been a primary target of the world's biggest and richest clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and PSG—each of whom has made a big-money offer and had it rejected by the club before this week.
Since Monday, reports have been coming from around the world that Silva had met with PSG sporting director and Silva's former manager Leonardo. Milan CEO Adriano Galliani was in Paris on Tuesday discussing a move with Leonardo and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

PSG were hoping that 47 million euros would be enough to get Silva. However, the terms of the deal kept changing as Milan were hoping to get 50 million. Some reports had PSG offering upwards of 40 million plus 22-year-old captain and center back Mamadou Sakho.
Galliani returned to Milan after negotiations and held a meeting with Berlusconi. At the end of the discussions, Berlusconi decided that keeping Silva was the best course of action.
“Berlusconi intends to resist the PSG offers for Thiago Silva,” Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.
There may have been a lot of influence from other members of the club and even the fans. Milan fans worldwide took to Twitter and Facebook to publicly show their discontent. Antonio Cassano, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Milan legend Paolo Maldini all publicly asked the club not to sell Silva, with Maldini saying it would show weakness. There was also speculation that if Silva was sold, Zlatan Ibrahimovic wanted to join him in the move to Paris. Even Milan Channel put out media asking Milan not to sell the club.
These statements may have helped Berlusconi, whose daughter Barbera, a board member who also asked that he keep the Brazilian, decide to keep Silva.
The Brazilian captain is expected to be Milan's captain during the 2012-13 season and is under contract at the San Siro until 2016.
