7 Reasons Fernando Torres Will Be Chelsea's Best Player Next Season
Fernando Torres is ready to become the best player for Chelsea.
Now, that doesn't mean he will be the most important or dynamic player. However, he will score the most goals next year, and he will be an intricate part to Chelsea's success.
Torres has struggled since coming to Stamford Bridge, but he's ready to make a change. He's still a great player, and there are plenty of reasons why he'll be the best player wearing Chelsea blue next year.
Full-Time Job
1 of 7Fernando Torres will most likely head into next year with the full-time job.
Rather than worrying about finding the net in limited time, Torres knows that he will be in the lineup on a weekly basis. It brings a new pressure, but a good, competitive one. Torres won't be trying to do to much, and the game should come to him.
If Torres can play with more confidence and less tension, he should be able to score loads of goals.
Fantastic Midfield
2 of 7After this summer, Chelsea could have the best attacking midfield in the English Premier League.
Juan Mata is already at Stamford Bridge. He was spectacular in his first season in England, and he will only improve. Eden Hazard is on his way, and if he's half of the player he's supposed to be, Chelsea will be in great shape.
Hulk is also rumoured to be on his way, which would complete a dynamic trio to get Fernando Torres the ball. If he doesn't come, Ramires will continue to play out on the right side. He was a revelation for Chelsea last season, and it wouldn't be a horrible thing to "settle" for the less-dazzling Brazilian.
Torres is a smart, hardworking player. The three players behind him are great at finding the striker. If everything works out like it should, Torres will have no trouble scoring goals.
Fan Favorite
3 of 7Despite all his struggles, Chelsea fans still support Fernando Torres.
Say what you want about Chelsea fans being glory hunters or plastic or whatever, but they stick by their players. Torres has had a rough time since coming to Chelsea, but the fans still sing his name.
Torres is Chelsea's No. 9. Once he starts playing like it, the fans will love him even more.
Roman Abramovich Gets What He Wants
4 of 7Since coming to Chelsea, Roman Abramovich has gotten just about everything he wants.
After buying Fernando Torres for £50 million last January, it's pretty clear that Abramovich wants Torres to be successful at Chelsea. When Abramovich wants something done, that thing usually gets done.
It may sound foolish, but are you going to tell Abramovich he won't get his way?
Didn't think so.
Still Playing Tough Competition
5 of 7Fernando Torres isn't getting a break this summer.
Instead of training alone and playing in a few friendlies, Torres is playing in the European Championships. Although he had a forgettable first game, he will most likely continue to get time, even though Fernando Llorente would probably be a better choice right now.
Torres' training and fitness will continue to improve this summer. Considering he won't be playing a full 90 minutes, even if he is the main striker, Torres will not come into camp overworked or exhausted.
Instead, he will be in great footballing shape, and he will be ready to start scoring goals for Chelsea.
He's 28 Years Old
6 of 7Fernando Torres should be reaching his prime.
He isn't too old, so fitness shouldn't be an issue. He isn't too young, so immaturity shouldn't be an issue. Torres is at a great age to combine quality play with experience.
He's scored big goals before (see: Final, Euro 2008), and he will score them again. Torres has a lot of great experience but don't forget that he has plenty left in the tank.
Torres is ready to take over the starting role. He just needs to play like it.
He's a World-Class Player
7 of 7Let's not forget how great Fernando Torres is.
He's struggled for a little while, but we're still talking about one of the most prolific scorers in recent memory. He's scored 20-plus goals in a single season four times in his career. He's more than capable of doing it again.
Torres just needs to get in a rhythm and get his confidence high again. Once he does that, he will be burying shots and getting the easy goals he's used to getting. Once those start finding the net, he will start to score more spectacular goals.
Torres is a great player, and he'll remind everyone of that this season.
