Let Our Voices Be Heard!: Where O' Where Is Our "Big Red Monster?"

I'm fresh off the heels of one of my best pieces, "The Article I Owe B/R: Every Memory That Oscillates, My Love for Wrestling." I've decided to start another new series. This will be called "Let Our Voices Be Heard."

Our new president, Barack Obama is the inspiration for this new series.

We're about a month and a half into 2009 and what changes have we seen? Cena is still superman, Triple H still sticks his nose everywhere, Vladimir Koslov still wants competition, HBK still needs to work for JBL, Tommy Dreamer still can't win a match, and Finlay still has a son.

So what's new? Randy Orton has gotten a push thats well deserved. His mic skills and in-ring ability has been elevated.

WWE has heard our voices before. They can hear us quite well. They can hear us so well that a certain "someone" didn't show up at the Royal Rumble, because we were babbling like little boys and girls over who had the "cooties."

Other than that, It seems that the only voices being heard are the in Randy Orton's head, and we can't hear them. Our voices need to be heard. Heck if they came out with a WWE entrance themes cd dubbed "Voices", they might as well listen to the ones around them.

With that out of they way, I'll attempt to address some issues that has been a thorn in my..our backside, so lets get to it shall we? Kane, the big red machine or the big red stalker? Oh where or where is our big monster? He was released not too long ago..."What? He's still here" (*yelling at stage crew to fix the teleprompter*).

When WWE decided to remove Kane's mask, WWE were taking a big gamble. Ever since he did in 2003, (might be 2002) the Kane we loved has been on a steady decline. People please relax. I know Kane is still Kane.

He can chokeslam people, he can still wrestle, but don't you find his post-mask gimmick a little boring? I feel like WWE has given up on him in a way.

What has Kane done since removing his mask? Well its been a blur because I stopped following Kane. I do remember him getting Lita pregnant. What!? From fire and brimstone, masking wearing, terrifying, tombstoning monster, to "My name is Kane, and I like you!"

Kane then feuded with Edge over Lita, even though Snitsky caused a miscarriage that "wasn't his fault!".

Kane was created for the sole purpose to have someone as devastating as the Undertaker. I understand that once the brothers stopped feuding and part ways that WWE has to do something different with Kane. This is a monstrosity! This is absurd! Outrageous! Boulder dash!

They try to keep Kane intimidating, but who's buying it? Not me for one. Everytime he does his sadistic laugh, I laugh. Do you laugh? The "scare factor" has been completely diminished. JR, King, Cole, Tazz, or who ever else commentates treats Kane like any other heel.

If you look back in the past, you'll see that Kane was  obviously more feared and the commentators implemented fear when speaking about him. These days they'll just say he's disgusting, and is sick. "Are we talking about Boogeyman or Kane?" It seems like Kane is Boogeyman 2.0 minus worms of course.

Kane is also one of the few superstars stuck in the "card-limbo". Let me elaborate further on this. Kane in my eyes, has been demoted to mid-card status, however since he is Kane, he can be included in a top card match at moments notice, and without a push.

He's both a mid carder, and a top carder. The catch to this is he's not a top carder really. I don't want to confuse anyone, but he's a "top-card filler". These are guys who aren't in the spotlight that much and don't really do much, but they can be fillers.

They are used when the WWE/Heavyweight champion awaits a new feud, and a filler is used. There are many examples but lets use JBL. Let's face it, this isn't the 2005 JBL. John Cena will go to Wrestelmania 25 and probably face Orton, but along the way he needed a filler...and that was JBL.

Cena is mostly likely taking the title to Houston (99.9 percent) and has to defend the championship in an Elimination Chamber at No Way Out in a week. Since JBL is involved with HBK and Orton has his hands full with the McMahons, that chamber is going to need loads of fillers. Jericho is the only non-filler.

Kane had lost his qualifying match to Kofi Kingston to earn a spot, but Kane was ultimately put in. He wasn't put in because he "called his brother", but because RAW has no left to choose from.

I'm not doubting Kane's skills, talent, or potential one bit, but WWE is just letting his character go to waste. Some may think otherwise, but I know people put there are on the same page as me.

LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD! Sometimes I don't know what creative is doing. Kane's recently stories included "torturing Rey Mysterio's spirit/soul" (OH that's frightening), and Kane having yet another crush (1st was Lita), this time on Kelly Kelly. The angle ended almost as fast as the Cage hype, after he was a Rumble no-show.

What is he up to now? He was fighting Kofi Kingston last time I checked. Is it me or does Kane have a thing for divas and cruiserweights? Yup...he's a monster alright.

Out of all the things that puzzles me, one really itches me. "Why didn't WWE at least change him back?" If they weren't going to take him in a new direction, then change him back.

This happened with Undertaker. He had a tenure with his "American badass" gimmick as he rode motorcycles. WWE, with the snap of fingers, instantly switched him back to the deadman. Can that be done for Kane then? They might as well, he's lost in traffic. What will they do with him for Wrestlemania?

Jamie Noble doesn't make up for the lost of Matt Hardy..so send Kane back to ECW then. The same can be said for the Big Show, but that another topic. If RAW is where he's going to reside, then write him off and bring him back a "real monster."

It might a be a little difficult to write him off, so just have Orton punt him. That punt can knock some sense into Kane and he returns with his mask. This could provide a future feud for Orton, as its never hurts to plan ahead. Speaking of the mask, I could have sworn he was going to take out his mask instead of Rey's...did we babble about that one too much as well? What will become of Kane?

Only time will tell.
