Pacquiao vs Bradley: Desert Storm Wouldn't Be so Lucky in Potential Rematch
Timothy Bradley got lucky when the inept judges awarded the decision to him over Manny Pacquiao on June 9, 2012, but his luck will run out if the two fighters are allowed a rematch in November.
It was clear to anyone watching the fight that Pacquiao won.
It was even more clear after the fight which fighter was worse for wear, too, as Bradley ended up showing up to the post-fight interviews in a wheelchair after breaking his left foot in the fifth round of the fight and suffering a twisted ankle on the other side.
Pacquiao knows he can't allow the potential rematch to be decided by the judges. He talked about the fight and potential rematch to reporters, via AP's Tim Dahlberg:
"I hope you’re not dismayed or discouraged...I can still fight...That will make me become a warrior in the next few months, because in the rematch my feeling is I don’t want to go the whole 12 rounds.
"
If Bob Arum backs off his refusal to allow a rematch, Pac-Man is going to unleash the fury like Mr. Furious from the movie Mystery Men. He will attack Bradley with every ounce of energy in his body, and his singular aim will be to knock Desert Storm out cold.
Bradley won't stand a chance.
Pacquiao looked like he thought he had the fight in the bag after about the eighth round. He let up his attack and rested on his laurels, assuming all he had to do was keep Bradley from making an epic comeback.
If he had pressed the attack throughout the entire 12-round match, we might be talking about a different story right now. He won't make the same mistake twice. Pacquiao will knock Bradley out if the two of them step into the ring again.
That's just a cold, hard fact.
