Washington Nationals' Gio Gonzalez Turns to Twitter to Find True Love

Twitter is an awesome social-media tool that brings a voice to the masses. It may also help Washington Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez score. 

NBC Sports came across some great tweets from the left-handed ace. 

It seems the new Nationals pitcher is still getting acclimated to the D.C. area and hasn't quite met a wonderful female who might go along with him on a date. 

Here is the first tweet from the pitcher who is putting together a fine season, pitching to the tune of a 2.35 ERA with eight wins and 89 strikeouts thus far:

Of course, things are never quite that easy. You have to make sure you cover all bases to avert potential disaster.

Now would be the time for the 26-year-old to step back and watch the offers pour in. This story is sure to reach a near viral level, giving Gonzalez a wealth of Nationals fans who would love to be squired about on his arm. 

NBC Sports notes a great idea from a fan. 

It seems the date is for the Nats' Dream Gala 2012, which includes a silent auction, causing Nats fan Stephanie to happen upon some genius with this tweet:

I say winner, winner chicken dinner should go to Stephanie for that brilliant idea. If not, there is a young southpaw who has excellent command of the strike zone currently on the market.
