Pacquiao vs. Bradley Fight: Both Fighters Need Rematch to Settle the Score
Forget about the judges. Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley need to settle this controversy all by themselves.
After the dreadful decision put forth by the judges on Saturday night, most fans have finally given up on boxing. And honestly, who can blame them?
The sport is now at an all-time low, but that doesn't mean it can't still entertain us. We are, after all, still talking about Pacquiao-Bradley two days after the actual fight.
Pac-Man beat Bradley on Saturday, and he didn't deserve the disrespect he got from the judges, but he didn't necessarily destroy Desert Storm. This is why they need to make a rematch. Not to get back at the judges, not for the money, but to give the fans a solid boxing match.
Bradley is tough. He put up a good fight. It's just unfortunate for him that Pacquiao was great.
Still, if you forget about how the first match was decided, wouldn't you want to see a good fighter go up against a great fighter for a second time? Especially with the poor state of boxing?
There's always the slight chance that Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather line up for everyone's dream fight. But if we are being realistic, that's never going to happen. Pacquiao and Bradley, as sad as it might be, very well may be the next best thing.
The poor judging won't affect how a second bout would be fought. In fact, it would probably make both boxers work even harder and come out with even more fire.
Not only would a rematch be exciting to watch, it would help boxing.
Of course, there are skeptics out there who are going to tell you the whole thing is fixed and that a second fight would be no different. But if someone is actually "fixing" boxing fights, there is no way they would dare try to fix a Bradley-Pacquiao rematch.
It just wouldn't be worth it.
So, while you are ready to give up on boxing and boycott a rematch between these two talented boxers, I implore you to give them a second chance and I implore the boxers involved to make it happen.
Things can only get better.
