France vs. England: Les Bleus Must Win to Erase World Cup Disgrace

The French men's fútbol team needs to behave like gentlemen while finding a way to win against England after disgracing themselves and their country in the 2010 World Cup.

For those of you who may not remember or weren't paying attention to the sport back then, their behavior a couple of years ago in South Africa put a massive black mark on the entire country.

First there was Nicolas Anelka's profanity-laced rant against coach Raymond Domenech, causing the controversial coach to axe the striker from the team. Then, the entire team refused to train in response. Finally, the team's performance against host team South Africa can only be described as one massive tantrum that caused their own fans to start cheering for their opponents, according to the Daily Mail.

The final insult was saved for the end of that game, when Domenech refused to shake the hand of South Africa's manager, Alberto Parreira. Their entire 2010 World Cup seemed to be orchestrated by a bunch of two-year-olds with poopy diapers. 

The only thing the French team can do now to erase their despicable behavior of two years ago is to go forward with humility and professionalism. The entire team needs to put their best foot forward and play with enthusiasm, dignity and class. 

They also need to play with skill and determination. Their country is depending on them to wash away the awful stench that they left behind in their last outing, and the best way to do so is by winning.

England will be a tough test. Led by Wayne Rooney, they are currently ranked No. 6 in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings, while France is ranked at No. 14, according to FIFA.com. If France finds a way to win this game, it will go a long way to proving that the past is behind them and that the best is yet to come.
