Brock Lesnar's Post-SummerSlam WWE Future Revealed

Imaan JalaliJun 7, 2018

Since "destroying" Triple H's arm on the Raw after Extreme Rules 2012, Brock Lesnar has been absent from WWE affairs.

In his place, his former manager Paul Heyman has sporadically showed up to further the storyline of a disgruntled and litigious Lesnar.

Undoubtedly, the stakes will rise and the tension will become more palpable, leading up to an all-but-confirmed Lesnar-Triple H clash at SummerSlam 2012 (h/t The Wrestling Observer Newsletter via 24Wrestling.com).

But what happens after that? Will Lesnar be scheduled for another marquee match beyond the Staples Center spectacular?

Apparently not.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter also reports (via 24Wrestling.com) that the Minnesota native will likely fall off the radar completely until spring 2013:

"

After SummerSlam, Lesnar is not expected to make any more appearances for many months. ...He is not scheduled to wrestle at Survivor Series and might not be back until 2013. It’s not known whether he’ll even be at the Royal Rumble, so right now, the only events that are locked in are SummerSlam and WrestleMania 29.

"

Love him or hate him, it will be unfortunate if Lesnar once again disappears after SummerSlam.

Although his passion for wrestling has waned, the master of the F5 does indeed bring an air of legitimacy and imminent chaos to the WWE Universe.

That impression was ever-present during his feud and match with John Cena and, surely, it will promptly return in spades for his bout with "The Game."

Fans, however, will have to soak it in before it's over given the dearth of WWE dates Lesnar is contracted to appear at.

Not to mention, if Extreme Rules was any indication, the WWE has seen fit to pay Lesnar an unprecedented sum of funds in exchange for putting over its homegrown stalwarts.

Whether Triple H overcomes all odds on Aug. 19 will prove to be immaterial, though, as Lesnar has enough real-life credibility to offset another scripted loss.

However, what could've been—the intrigue of witnessing an unstoppable Lesnar—will forever be lost.
