The 2012 French Open is nearly over but the best action has yet to begin, with the women's final between Maria Sharapova and Sara Errani kicking off what promises to be an awesome weekend at Roland Garros.

Errani has made a surprise appearance in the final as a No. 21 seed, but success on clay isn't unusual for her. The Italian has done well on clay during WTA play in her career and she won this year's women's doubles title at the French Open.

To advance to the final, Errani defeated 2012 Australian Open champion Sam Stosur in the semifinal. Her opponent in the final will be Russian star Maria Sharapova, who is the No. 2 seed at this tournament.

With a win on Saturday against Errani, Sharapova will have won every Grand Slam tournament at least once thus far in her young career. She defeated Petra Kvitova in the semifinal to reach Saturday's final, where she will be favored to win.
