Why Dolph Ziggler Will Be the Next WWE Superstar

Joe Burgett Feb 8, 2009

"Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler."

Those are four words that you hear from the one and only Dolph Ziggler. While he feels he has to tell everyone his name, we are quickly learning it. If you remember, we saw him along with the released Kenny Dykstra in the Spirit Squad back in 2006.

The WWE needed a bunch of young guys, and they figured they would bring some of their best young talent up to be in the Spirit Squad to feud with D-Generation X. Ziggler was one of them.

However, the WWE and many of the fans felt that Dykstra was the best out of them all. And, he was the only one who stayed on WWE TV after the Spirit Squad angle. Ziggler went back and worked on his skills; it paid off.

Kenny ended up getting fired, while Ziggler moved up and made a singles impression. For months we saw him come and say "Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler," and we didn't see him wrestle. Then the moment he did, my jaw dropped.

He didn't do anything that was astonishing, but he surprised me. I thought he would be terrible his first match in. He ended up doing well.

The thing people remember him for is his kick to the head while his opponent is on the outside of the ring, which is how he has won his matches. He falls and takes a blow, but the impact he hits his opponents with is just fierce.

I was amazed at the athletic ability he had compared to other new superstars. That could be why many are on ECW, and he is on RAW. There wasn't a mistake there, the WWE knew what they were doing.

I feel he could be an Intercontinental Champion soon. He has all the tools and there is really only one or two people who could compete for it right now—William Regal and Santino Marella, both of whom I don't see the WWE going with against CM Punk. So, Ziggler would be the best person to go with.

While both Ted DiBiase Jr. and Cody Rhodes could be great IC Champions, Legacy looks to be focused on keeping Randy Orton from punting everyone's head off.

Ziggler fits the mold of an IC Champion, and reminds me of a young Sting.

Hear me out. He does not do the face paint as we know like Sting does, but he is just like Sting was when he was coming up.

Sting wanted to make an impression. He did it by taking on the best, and soon he did in Ric Flair. Ziggler will not face that caliber of talent yet. But, like many before him, the IC Title leads to World Title gold for many.

Once he wins the IC Title he could really do well in the singles field because he would be taken seriously as a wrestler, and not be known just as the guy who says his name a hundred times a day.

I feel if he were to make a Wrestlemania appearance in the Money in the Bank Ladder match, he could do well. If he makes an impression there, why not give him an IC Title shot in the future?

First off, it seems the WWE does not like to keep titles on CM Punk for more than three months at a time. So, that means within that time, Ziggler could get a shot at the IC Title and win.

This would put him right into the World Title Picture. I know it may be a huge jump to conclusions here, but the last time I was this high on talent wise was John Cena, and I think he did pretty well.

Although he may not be the fan's wrestler, he is successful. And in the WWE, that is all that matters.

I feel Ziggler won't get as much flack as Cena. First off, he is a heel. That puts him out to get booed anyway. No one in the media listens to how much someone hates a heel as much as a face.

Second, he is really good in the ring. Plus, he has good ring awareness to know what is going on in and outside of it. And, he could care less how he wins as long as he wins period, whether it be by submission, pin, or like one of his victories, a count out.

You heard it here first—Dolph Ziggler is the next big WWE superstar.

This has been an Assassin article.
