Pacquiao vs. Bradley: Pre-Fight Chatter for PacMan and Bradley
With Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley set to step into the ring for their much-anticipated fight in just over two days, it’s time to round up all the hype and trash talk surrounding the bout.
Both fighters and their supporters have been waging a war of words and claiming that they are going to emerge victorious, but only one will have his arm raised at the end of the night by the referee.
Keep reading to catch some of the talk that has stood out in the weeks leading up to this boxing match.
Freddie Roach Disses Bradley
Pac-Man’s trainer, Freddie Roach, decided to take a few cheap shots at his fighter’s opponent’s skills.
According to ESPN’s boxing staff, the Hall of Famer was not too impressed upon viewing Bradley’s physique.
""That muscle looks really good—but that's all it is: he's slow, he can't punch… I don't see any problems," Roach said.
"
That certainly had to motivate Bradley to train even harder.
Bradley Calls Out Pac-Man’s Struggles Against Marquez
ESPN’s boxing staff found that Bradley believes his age is going to be a huge factor in why he beats his Filipino opponent.
"He couldn't stop a 38-year-old [Juan Manuel] Marquez, so he's definitely not going to stop a 28-year-old like myself," Bradley said.
""They may think that Marquez just has Manny's number, but whatever Marquez can do, I can do 10 times better. He's great at counter-punching, and I'm devastating at counter-punching. My counter-punching ability is unbelievable. I beat most of my guys on counter-punching. It's effective aggressiveness with counter-punching."
"
Pacquiao took a lot of heat for his majority decision over Marquez and many boxing fans believe that the older fighter actually should have won.
Look for the judges, if they need to be involved, to be less forgiving in this contest.
Pacquiao Remains Respectful
Pac just isn’t the kind of guy to talk trash. He’d rather let his opinionated team—guys like Freddie Roach and Bob Arum—deal with that.
That hasn’t stopped him from claiming that he has a job to do and letting those know he has trained hard to accomplish it.
According to ABS-CBNnews.com, Pacquiao isn’t going to shy away trying to hurt Bradley in the ring.
"“I love Bradley as a brother, but we have a job in the ring that we need to do. We have to hurt people,” he added.
“That’s our position and part of our position is to do our job in the ring. After that, nothing personal.”
“This fight will be a great fight, and the people will be satisfied with the result,”
"
It should definitely be an excellent fight and it cannot come soon enough.
