Argentina vs. Brazil: Injured Thiago Silva Wont Keep El Selecao from Victory

Thiago Silva's nagging knee will not keep Brazil from getting back on the winning track when they take on rivals Argentina on Saturday. 

Brazil had been playing fantastic, until they ran into Mexico for a friendly played in the U.S. and fell 2-0. While the result was disappointing, they did not play terrible. They controlled possession for much of that game—they just couldn't capitalize on it.

The final score was not the only sore spot for Brazil. Thiago Silva also sustained a knee injury. Daniel Edwards, of Goal.com, passed along the information which was first reported on the Spanish speaking Globo Esporte. 

Silva tweaked his right knee. His playing status for the game is not known. If he is not able to go, Bruno Uvini will likely take his place. 

This will be a nice test for the talented 21-year-old. He has already made two appearances with the senior team, and is looking to further cement himself on the squad. He will not leave a huge gap in quality should he take Silva's place, which is good news for El Selecao because Argentina comes in in good form. 

They took down Ecuador 4-0 this past weekend. Argentina has a nice and quick-strike attack, but Brazil's typically tough defense will be able to keep them in check.

The Brazil attackers will take over from there. Neymar and Hulk are not going to be happy about being shut out last game. 

Prediction: Brazil 3, Argentina 1

Brazil will be focused and ready to put some goals on the board and get back on the winning track.
