Lauren Tannehill's Desperate Quest for Celebrity Will Dominate Hard Knocks
Lauren Tannehill is trying to convert her looks and her husband's high profile into celebrity status, and the HBO Hard Knocks series will be all too happy to oblige her.
The 24-year-old aspiring model is the wife of Dolphins rookie QB Ryan Tannehill, and she has already managed to generate some buzz.
There are pics, like the one on the side, that popped up and made it appear like they would appear in Maxim. However, that connection was a bit premature. Yahoo Sports' Chris Chase reported that Maxim has "distanced themselves" from the photos.
Maxim or not, Lauren and her PR team will continue to shop these photos. She is obviously eager to capitalize on her current situation as being the wife of the player the Dolphins hope will be their QB of the future.
While this is a shameless attempt to establish herself, you can't really blame her. She is doing what she can to pursue her profession. I would have more respect if she went about this by just trying to develop her own identity, and not while holding a football and wearing Dolphins colors, but that is the nature of the beast.
What is really going to suck about this is that it is going to take up way too much camera time on Hard Knocks.
Great, another reality show with a person acting real to try and become more famous. There just aren't enough of those already.
Hard Knocks has featured player's wives before, but I'm not sure there were any that were this ambitious to propel their own career. This is going to set up for some painful moments that are common place in reality shows I try to avoid.
Obviously, those moments are working for ratings and business, but can't we just have one show that goes a different route?
