Joe Torre Refuses to Go on the Air with Michael Kay on 1050 ESPN Radio

Joe Torre apparently refused to come on the air with Michael Kay on 1050 ESPN Radio. Kay obviously wanted to talk about his new book. Mr. T & Kay don’t have such a great relationship, and I guess Joe doesn’t like the criticism he receives from Michael.

It’s interesting to see how different people view Joe. It’s really hard to imagine people not getting along with him.

Neil Best spoke with Kay, and this is what he had to say:

Whatever their relationship, Kay said he and Torre acted professionally in doing their respective jobs.

“Whatever I needed from him, I got from him,” he said. “It wasn’t contentious at all, not at all.”

“I didn’t have a venue to rip him,” Kay said.

“There are things he did that I’ll save for my book that were very, very wrong on a personal level,” he said.
