Antonio Tarver vs. Lateef Kayode: Power Will Silence Magic Man with Pleasure

Undefeated Nigerian boxer Lateef Kayode will silence outspoken opponent Antonio Tarver, who has been critical of him as a commentator in some of Power's previous fights on Showtime. The two fighters will square off at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California this Saturday night.

Per the Los Angeles Times:

"

Every time I was fighting, he was saying I was not understanding boxing enough, that I don't know how to use my right, my power, Kayode said. He's basically saying I don't know how to do my job.

"

I'm no boxing expert, and I've never been asked to color commentate for a fight on Showtime, but Kayode's 14 knockouts in 18 fights tells me he knows how to use his power.

The Los Angeles Times report says that Tarver believes Kayode's trainers aren't being honest about his weaknesses: 

"

Everyone telling you how good you are — that can be condemning, Tarver said. Well, I'm at a different level of boxing. This isn't checkers. It's chess. And there's going to be some frustrating moments for him in this fight. He'll be swinging and missing all night.

"

I can't help but think Tarver's a bit off his rocker on this count, as well. After all, Kayode is being trained by none other than Freddie Roach—a man who knows his business.

At the end of the night, Magic Man is going to get KO'd by Kayode.

Kayode's power is incredible. He has one-punch knockout ability, and Tarver's been out of the game for a while. Tarver does have the experience to put up a heck of a fight, but in the end, he'll be overwhelmed and overpowered by his younger, hungrier opponent.

Kayode is 29 years old, in the prime of his fighting career and is the WBO, NABO and NABF Cruiser weight champion. 

Tarver, on the other hand, is 43years old and is in the twilight of his career, though he does own the IBO cruiserweight title. I only hope that Tarver can walk out of the arena after it's all said and done, because he's in for the beating of his life.

Kayode is going to take pleasure in silencing Tarver once and for all.
