John Madden: Creating Phallic Works Of Art, Est. 2007

E AFeb 6, 2009

Sept. 6, 2007:

The New Orleans Saints played their regular season opener against the Indianapolis Colts. The game was broadcasted on NBC Sunday Night Football.

Unfortunately for the Saints, they were absolutely embarrassed in this game. The end result was a 41-10 win for the Colts, who put up 17 points in the fourth quarter alone.

Peyton Manning led the Colts' passing attack, compiling 288 yards and three touchdowns on 18 completed passes. Joseph Addai followed up with a great rushing attack, putting together 118 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.

To go with that, the Colts' defense forced three New Orleans turnovers over the course of the game, also holding the visiting team to 293 yards.

However, there was one highlight for the Saints fans watching at home.

While breaking down a play in the third quarter, commentator John Madden inadvertently drew a penis on the screen.

He started by drawing two circles around Colts' wide receivers standing near each other before the hike. Then, Madden started the creation of a shaft by drawing a line from the furthest wide receiver to Saints' cornerback Jason David.

He completed it by drawing another line, originating from the other circle, which went to and around the Saints' corner.

It may not have been the most memorable game for the Saints, but surely the memory lives on among those who saw this unfold on television.
