WWE: Is the Divas Division in Danger of Disappearing?

Giulio RomanoJun 7, 2018

It's a man's world, they say. Suits, ties, briefcases and millionaires make the world go 'round.

Funny how so many conflicts still rage in this world. Perhaps a touch of womankind or amazon justice is needed to usher in new era on planet Earth. Now, that is something worth trying, no? A woman president!

Speaking of trying, the Divas of WWE are some of the most talented and beautiful women I have ever seen. Week after week, I see them gnaw and claw for just a piece of glory in this company, yet all they are given is scraps from the all-male table.

Sad, very sad. I never thought I'd say this but...Is the division about to die out soon?

I shudder at the thought of that. There have been many people defending women's place in pro-wrestling. Many articles have been published on the subject, and the potential for amazing story lines is always present—so why all this nonsense every week?

Layla, the current Divas Champion, wasn't even present on Raw this past Monday. That is not good; she needs to be there all the time, no days off. No Way Out is three weeks away, so things need to happen if the WWE Universe is to witness the birth of a new feud between the ladies.

Are they a victim of the John Laurinaitis' "People Power" era? Is he trying to make himself be important by inserting himself in the main event scene? Unless it is with CM Punk, it is not working out so well, is it? I'd rather have an excellent quality Divas feud instead.

Maybe it is not for nothing Raw is going to three hours soon. After all, some Superstars and Divas need all the exposure they can get, but I fear too much of something is not better and that WWE may burn itself out in the long run. I mentioned that in a previous article.

Beth Phoenix, the pillar of the division, had all the tools necessary to carry this division to new heights. She was a powerful champion. It is not her fault, however, things didn't work out. Kharma was putting her life back together, and Natalya was "tested" when it appeared she had a flatulence problem.

I know for a fact, deep down, the average WWE fan wants the Divas around. I am a longtime follower, and I absolutely love them. I never turn away when they come out, nor do I laugh at them. I actually want more quality. I miss the days of old, the days of Chyna and Trish and Lita.

There is so much potential, and it must be tapped in to. If people turn away, it wouldn't be because they don't care, it would be because WWE forced them to stop caring in order to kill it off once and for all.

In a nutshell, the Divas division is in danger, yes, but it can and WILL BE saved. Layla, Beth Phoenix, Kharma, Eve Torres, Vickie Guerrero, Rosa Mendes, Kelly Kelly, Tamina, Trish Stratus...all household WWE names that are alive and well. They are not going to go down without a fight.

Something is changing in this company; things are starting to happen. The recent Extreme Rules pay-per-view being classed "TV-14" is a great start, so why stop there?

SummerSlam 2012 should have Layla face a retuning Kharma or someone good like Natalya for the Divas title. The former "Awesome Kong" should return then, at best ,which could draw out the attention of one Beth Phoenix. The rest would smoothly continue on, for the better of everyone.

All this attention towards the Divas and their current state will eventually reach SOMEONE's ear. It is not for nothing; the girls have tons of fans out there. Never Give Up! (Thanks Cena, I still embrace the hate fool!)

Many endangered species have been rescued, and this is the same thing here. No compromise!

To a strong amazon nation!
