NFC North Daily: Breakfast Hot Links for June 1st, 2012
It's Friday! That means the weekend is here, which is kind of sad because there is no football. Weekends need football like Chicago needs a Super Bowl, at least in my opinion.
We'll touch on the potential Windy City-Bowl here as well as some OTA news, Stafford vs. Megatron, backup quarterbacks and Vikings injury news both involving and NOT involving Adrian Peterson.
Also a reminder that we have a mailbag coming up today—you want to comment on anything from this week, this article or in general, throw them my way on Twitter with a #NFCNMailbag tag.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Let's get to it!
ORDER UP!
Chicago Bears
The league is discussing the possibility of a Chicago Super Bowl, according to Scott Powers at ESPN Chicago. As I wrote late last night, I fully support this idea—then again, I cover the NFC North and grew up in New York so I'm partial to football played in rough weather.
Like Madden intended.
Dan Pompei disagrees, the spoilsport.
Meanwhile, Mark Potash says that second-year tackle Gabe Carimi could hold the key to fixing the Bears' offensive line woes.
After crushing our Super Bowl dreams, Pompei comes back with a nice piece on cornerback Kelvin Hayden.
Detroit Lions
Here's a chicken or the egg scenario for you? B/R's own Dan Levy and Josh Zerkle debate who is more vital—Calvin Johnson or Matt Stafford? Levy has a strong peanut-butter and jelly based argument.
I know people think the media is obsessed but—this is a problem. Justin Rogers of MLive says Corey Williams (and one would imagine, the other team leaders) are content to let the coaches handle the misbehaving players.
This is the time you step up as a leader—it's what leaders do. Letting the buck pass.....well, maybe it'll be nothing. Maybe.
Green Bay Packers
Tyler Dunne talks about the hard work and effort M.D. Jennings is putting in to maybe swipe a safety spot while Charlie Peprah is recovering from surgery.
At the Press-Gazette, Rob Demovsky talks about how critical the offseason is for Graham Harrell if he wants that No. 2 quarterback job locked up.
Minnesota Vikings
Tom Pelissero says Adrian Peterson isn't ruling out showing up at camp and playing in at least a limited capacity. Earlier this week I talked about how Peterson will beat the odds coming back and succeed, but the key to that was patience, which is something this would not be showing.
Too soon and Peterson risks re-aggravating his knee. I hope he's not being pushed to play, and I hope he is advised well by his doctors and the team.
Finally, Dan Wiederer has some notes about Harrison Smith finally signing, how OTAs have made Leslie Frazier excited and some injury news about guys not named Peterson.
