Chelsea Transfer News: Blues Reportedly Agree to Deal for Porto Star Hulk
Chelsea's summer spending spree has reportedly netted the UEFA Champions League winners another world-class attacking talent.
According to David Hytner of The Guardian, the Blues have agreed to a fee of £38 million for Porto striker Hulk. The 25-year-old Brazil international had long been connected to the West London club, even more so after the Blues pulled off a surprising double in the Champions League and the FA Cup.
Hulk scored 16 goals and added seven assists while helping the Portistas defend their Primeira Liga title in Portugal this season. He had been with Porto since 2008, when he left Japan for the Iberian Peninsula.

He was believed to have been bound to Porto by a €100 million release clause in his contract, though that does not appear to be part of the transfer with Chelsea.
The move comes just three days after the Blues bought star midfielder Eden Hazard from Lille of France's Ligue 1 for a fee of £32 million, beating out Manchester City and Manchester United for the 21-year-old Belgian wunderkind's signature.
Owner Roman Abramovich and club officials have yet to decide whether to bring back caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo, who took over after the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas and led the Blues to two titles.
But that hasn't stopped Chelsea brass from moving aggressively to upgrade a squad that finished sixth in the English Premier League this past season. The Blues are expected to lose longtime center forward Didier Drogba to Shanghai Shenhua in China, but still have Spanish star Fernando Torres, whom they acquired from Liverpool in a blockbuster £50 million transfer in January 2011.
