Michael CummingsJun 7, 2018

Not all rumors are created equal.

Case in point: Wayne Rooney is reportedly wanted by a big-spending foreign club, and the big-spending foreign club is reportedly willing to spend an outrageous amount of money to get him.

But do you think Rooney will leave England and Manchester United?

While you decide, we have plenty of juicy news today in the B/R World Football Gossip Roundup. Keep reading for updates on Jordi Alba, Manchester City's dealings, Demba Ba, Thomas Vermaelen and Euro 2012 tickets.

PSG Want Wayne Rooney

1 of 8

According to reports around Europe (via the Daily Mirror), Paris Saint-Germain are planning a £150 million move for Wayne Rooney.

The enormous sum would include Rooney's potential transfer fee and wages, but even so, this is a long shot.

Can anyone see United selling, for any price?

Losing Jordi Alba?

2 of 8

One player who's more likely to move this summer is Valencia defender/midfielder Jordi Alba.

Alba, 23, is wanted by a host of clubs, and Valencia are reportedly resigned to losing him.

Alba's contract with Valencia runs until 2013. He would cost about €15 million, with Barcelona leading the chase.

No More Attackers?

Relax for a moment, Gooners. Robin van Persie might not be going to Manchester City.

According to the Manchester Evening News, City boss Roberto Mancini has said the Blues don't need to sign an attacking player this summer.

Strangely, the report fails to mention Van Persie, instead listing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Gaston Ramirez as potential targets.

"Ibrahimovic is a champion," Mancini said. "But I already have four very strong strikers. I just need them to compete in the Champions League. We are okay up front."

Anybody believe him? Thought not.

According to a Daily Mirror exclusive, the famed £7 million buyout clause in Ba's contract can be activated starting Thursday for two months.

Ba impressed early in the English Premier League season after joining Newcastle from West Ham, but he struggled in the second half of the season, finishing with 16 goals.

Speaking of Chelsea, the latest target for the big-spending European champions appears to be Fulham's Moussa Dembele.

According to The Sun, Chelsea "are ready to make" a £10 million move for the playmaker, who would join fellow Belgian Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.

Dembele, 24, has made 38 senior appearances for Belgium.

Gunner for Life?

7 of 8

Arsenal might not be able to compete with London rivals Chelsea for spending, but one of the Gunners' most important players is reportedly pledging his loyalty for life.

According to ESPN Soccernet, which cites a Sky Sports report, Thomas Vermaelen wants to stay at Arsenal "forever."

Arsenal fans, however, have been burned by this sort of boasting before.
