Word Life Vol. 11: Tag Team Crossroad Pt.1..Thumbs Down and a Wrong Area Code
Welcome again to another volume of "Word Life." I've controlled my vocabulary to better suit the PG rating since my bad mouth in Vol. 10. I washed my mouth with soap and I'm back.
This is a special edition because it's the first of multi-part series in the Word Life articles. Lets move on, shall we?
Remember when Rey Mysterio and Batista were tag team champions? My mind is fuzzy, and I really don't want to remember.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
I'll take an educated guess and say sometime in 2006 or maybe 2007. Feel free to tell me the exact time period..if you care.
This multi-part series will cover certain superstars after they have split apart and went into the cold, cold, lonely world of singles competition alone. A quick history lesson shall we?
What causes a tag team to break up? Constant losing leads to unhappiness and a feud and or breakup is foreshadowed as the team aren't on the same page they used to be on, and loses chemistry (See: Trevor Murdoch and Lance Cade).
Jealousy between one another and a desire to get the "WWE" and or "Heavyweight" championship could be likely causes too (See:Hardy Boyz, Edge and Christian, and Rated RKO).
I can't remember why Batista and Rey broke up. I believe one of them was the champion. Competition definitely had something to do with it, though.
The two set off on two different roads and its time to see how both did on their own...most importantly, who is better off right now? Rey hasn't won any world championship, so already he's behind his brainless former tag team partner, the animal Batista.
Batista has feuded with the Undertaker. It included the World Heavyweight championship. Batista even defeated the Undertaker once or twice in the feud, but fell short to the Deadman at Wrestlemania 23. Nevertheless, Batista had made a triumphant return to singles competition.
Rey was a little more under the radar. Fast forward about a year later and Batista and Mysterio have changed homes. Batista was drafted to RAW, and so was Mysterio. The two never got to ever meet in the ring because Mysterio was missing from RAW for a while (Rey was tending to injuries and had to sign a new contract).
Batista thrust himself into the Championship picture after Edge lost Smackdown's World Heavweight championship after gloating that RAW has no "world champion", since "WWE champion" Triple H, was drafted to Smackdown.
Batista left Edge falt on his back and CM Punk cashed in his Wrestlemania 24 Money in The Bank contract and pinned the knocked-out Edge.
CM Punk feuded with Batista but JBL took over and feuded with CM Punk. Speaking of Wrestlemania 24, Batista defeated Umaga in a interpromotional match. Rey didn't even wrestle at Wrestlemania 24.
Back to RAW, Mysterio eventually came back after weeks of Kane statements that he had tortured Rey's soul in "hell." Kane had feuded with Mysterio and after weeks of Kane dominance, Mysterio went on to win the feud I believe.
Rey went on to be mysteriously attacked time and time again by Mike Knox. Knox had been destroying Rey for about a month straight, so that wasn't good. Knox seemed to have Rey's number...his whole 6-1-9 area code in fact as he stopped Rey's favorite moves on numerous occasions even last week's RAW in a tag match that featured Rey and Kofi Kingston vs Kane and Mike Knox.
Rey did earn an elimination chamber spot for the World Heavyweight champinship at No Way Out by defeating William Regal.
Batista had his eyes on the World Heavyweight championship. He defeated John Cena at Summerslam 2008, which was a huge win. He later feuded with Randy Orton for number one contendership for John Cena's title.
Batista defeated Orton to gain the contendership at Armageddon 2008. Weeks later Randy Orton gave him his signature "NFL" style and kicked his brains into the summer of 2009. Who is better off? Who's doing better? Who did better overall? I know my pick. I'll leave the rest to you guys, until stay tuned for the next installment of "Word Life."
