WWE News: Brock Lesnar's Appearance at UFC 146 Part of His WWE Storyline?

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

Brock Lesnar unsurprisingly caused a big controversy over the weekend when he sat cageside for the big UFC 146 pay-per-view.

Given all of his history with the organization, Lesnar’s appearance at the PPV has many wondering exactly why Lesnar was there and has led to a ton of speculation that he could be returning to MMA.

UFC president Dana White didn’t do anything to stop that speculation when he said at a post-show press conference that he had a meeting with Lesnar and hinted that Lesnar might be coming back to the UFC.

But just what happened in that meeting? And is Lesnar really considering a jump back to MMA? Let’s take a look.

From F4Wonline.com (via WrestleZone.com):

"

As reported, Brock Lesnar met with UFC President Dana White on Saturday night in Las Vegas where UFC 146 was taking place.

F4Wonline.com is reporting the meeting didn't go over well and if Lesnar's appearance sitting front row at the event is mentioned on RAW, then the whole day was likely part of his WWE storyline.

"

I guess you never really know what’s going on in the mind of Lesnar, who is notorious for flip-flopping from one venture to another.

But I think it’s pretty safe to say that Lesnar isn’t leaving the WWE until his contract expires after WrestleMania 29 and that his appearance at UFC 146 was just a part of his current storyline with Triple H.

As the story goes, Lesnar has “quit” the WWE, which, at least theoretically, means that he can move on to pursue other interests, which, in turn, leaves open the possibility of a return to MMA.

The storyline idea behind Lesnar’s appearance at UFC 146 then would be that since the WWE screwed him over, he’s contemplating going back to UFC and his appearance at the show was proof that he could easily go back to MMA if he wanted to.

I don’t think that Lesnar attended the PPV because he wants to return to MMA, and while that’s always a possibility, I’m thinking that this is all just part of a major angle to get people talking.

The more people that talk about Lesnar at UFC, the more people will wonder if he’s done with the WWE, the more people will tune into RAW to see what’s going on with Lesnar, etc.

Vince McMahon is a master businessman, and he knows that having Lesnar appear at UFC 146 is a great and free way to generate more interest in his product.

Now that everyone who’s been on a wrestling news Web site since Saturday knows that Lesnar attended UFC 146, they’re going to wonder why he did so.

That equals increased interest and increased viewership.

Props, Vince—you’re a sly little devil, you.
