UFC 146: Jason "Mayhem" Miller Doesn't Live Up to His Own Hype

Austin GreenMay 31, 2018

Jason "Mayhem" Miller proved once again that his bark is bigger than his bite.

The arrogant, flashy and (I'll admit) entertaining middleweight failed to back up his words for the second straight fight, losing a lopsided encounter with C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146.

Miller guided a few big right hands to his opponent's chin, but Dollaway controlled the fight throughout. He took Miller down six times and had ground control for nearly 11 minutes of the three round bout. Dollaway was eventually awarded a unanimous decision victory 29-28, 30-26, 29-28.

Overall, it was a horrible fight for Miller.

He couldn't keep the fight off the ground, and he hardly lived up to his pre-fight proclamations. Despite getting destroyed by Michael Bisping in his last UFC fight, Miller admitted that he was looking past Dollaway because he was so confident.

Well, Miller's self-delusion once again came back to haunt him, as the better conditioned Dollaway took him out of his comfort zone, and although he didn't cause much damage, he controlled the entire fight.

It was another poor effort from Miller, who may have been fighting for his job.

After getting annihilated by Bisping, UFC boss Dana White didn't sound enthusiastic about keeping Miller around. And immediately after he lost to Dollaway, White tweeted his disappointment.

"

THAT SUCKED!!!!

Miller did appear to suffer a knee injury early on, and if it turns out to be somewhat serious, it may shift the perceptions of this fight.

But until the medical reports are known, this looks like another awful showing from Miller. Don't be surprised if this was his last fight with the UFC.
