WWE News: Johnny Ace in Big Show's Corner Won't Help No Way Out Main Event

Andrew KulhaJun 7, 2018

John Cena is in yet another main event—this time it's No Way Out—but his feud with The Big Show, and John Laurinaitis is not worthy of the top billing.

Obviously, Laurinaitis is a major reason the drama between Show and Cena has transpired, so it's expected that he plays a huge role in this match. Marc Middleton of LordsofPain.net is reporting that Big Johnny will be in Big Show's corner:

"

Local advertising for next month's WWE No Way Out pay-per-view in East Rutherford, New Jersey says that John Laurinaitis will be in the corner of Big Show as he takes on John Cena in the main event. The stipulation with Laurinaitis will likely be announced this week.

While I'm sure the WWE will find a way to twist and turn this match to make it exciting, unexpected and fun, I do have one very important question I need to ask:

Is this really what you, the WWE Universe, wants to see as a main event?

Personally, I've been very open about the fact that I'm a John Cena fan. So I was obviously perturbed when Big Show ruined the redemptive moment that every WWE fan was experiencing as Cena tossed Laurinaitis around the ring at Over the Limit.

I want to see Cena get his redemption, and I want to see both Show and Laurinaitis get their comeuppance, but honestly, I just don't want to see that as the main event.

The news that Laurinaitis will be in Big Show's corner means that this match will undoubtedly get gimmicky. That, in the end, takes away from the wrestling. It may add to the drama and to the storyline, but now we're facing the potential of two PPV main events with little to no good wrestling featured.

No offense to Big Show, but he's not the most technical and skilled wrestler out there. Other than a WMD here or there and that big slap of his, what is he going to be bringing to the table?

Meanwhile, we've got an incredible feud between Daniel Bryan and CM Punk that features some of the best technical wrestling, in-ring precision and mic work that I've seen. We also have a World Heavyweight Title Match that features Sheamus, who is the title holder and is an absolute beast in ring, and Alberto Del Rio, who is savvy and skillful.

You're trying to tell me that neither of those two matches are worth a main event?

I'm a Cena fan, but even I'm sick of seeing him in the main events. Add in the fact that Big Show is limited and Laurinaitis really only brings his character to the table, and there's not much that draws me to this main event.

Cena vs. The Big Show as it is would have been an okay match, but it still wouldn't have been better than Punk vs. Bryan or Sheamus vs. Del Rio.

Adding Laurinaitis to Show's corner doesn't help this main event in any way.
