Manny Pacquiao: Pac-Man Must Step Away from Boxing After Bradley Fight

Chris TrapassoJun 7, 2018

With nothing left to prove and no promise of a super showdown with Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao should call it quits after his bout on June 9th.

It's that simple.

The outcome of Pac-Man's fight with Tim Bradley is irrelevant.

He's has won 54 times in 59 career fights and in the process has become one of the most decorated boxers of all-time.

He's got international appeal as today's most popular boxer and has a political career in the Philippines.

While Pacquiao and the rest of the boxing world has an undying desire to see him square off with the boisterous and undefeated Money Mayweather, will it ever happen?

Bradley's a good fighter with an unblemished record and a confidence he's earned in his young career. However, Pacquiao should be able to handle his business and win again.

Pacquiao is clearly still a capable fighter, but at 33 years old with what will soon be 60 fights on his resume, he's should realize that it would be better to end his illustrious career sooner rather than later when more long-lasting injuries can creep up on him.

Discounting a fight with Mayweather that's still more hype than substance at this point, anything more in Pacquiao's boxing career would only place potential harm on his legacy or long-term health.

Chance are he'll emerge victorious over Bradley, or draw at the very worst.

After that, Manny Pacquiao needs to retire as one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport.
