Milwaukee Brewers in the News: Feb. 4
Brewers News
- Rickie Weeks has avoided arbitration by signing a one year deal for 2.45 Million and extra incentives. It seems to fit almost right in the middle of both sides’ original offer. I’m glad to get this done, I’d hate to have Rickie lose in arbitration…
- Corey Hart is the only Brewer remaining in arbitration

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
- Since Mercedes-Benz pulled out of the field haus, AirTran stepped in. Wow…talk about a demotion. It’s being called the “AirTran Airways Landing Zone”. Jared, how long ago was it when we never heard of AirTran and you thought it stood for “DeathTrap” airlines?
- The Top 9 Free Agents Remaining. If you would have told me that it was this far along and ManRam, Sheeter, and Dunn were all unsigned I would have scoffed mightely. Some real good names left, but it doesn’t seem like any will end up in MKE.
- Brewed Sports puts the Brewers players through a “real pecota”. Jack, I don’t know how to use that in a sentence…was that correct? All I know is that if the Brewers play up to the numbers, it should be a mighty fine offensive year.
- RosenBlog doesn’t think too highly of the Brewers chances, especially if they are “tapped out” like Mark alluded to. Neither does the Wrigleyville23 blog.
- Fantasy News - JJ Hardy and Rickie Weeks are on the All-27 Year Old Breakthrough Team. Hardy should have already broken out onto most fantasy teams by now.
Minor Leagues
- Both BTGP and Bernie’s Crew have put Jeremy Jeffress at #3.
- 2004’s First-Round Pick Mark Rodgers is still in the mix…just not as far as anyone would like, including him I’m sure. Keep working hard, Mark.
Other News
- This is perfect timing with Tyler’s post. It’s Dante Bichetter Jr.
