Team for Sale: The New York Mets
This is not another attempt a humorous article. My last one bombed. The New York Mets are in serious trouble and the problem starts at the top. It has been documented ad nauseam about the last three September collapses.
It's a good thing that our losing record in September of 2006 didn't keep us out of the playoffs like the last two years, but it did stem the tide of momentum and the feeling of invincibility we had that summer. Game 7 of the NLCS ended that dream.
Our biggest hole in the 2007 collapse that year was the need for an ace which we filled with the acquistion of Johan Santana for 2008. He couldn't do it alone. After last years collapse we filled the holes with K-Rod and J.J. Putz. It is frankly not enough.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Under the leadership of this ownership, Omar Minaya has never been given the opportunity to be proactive and step outside the box and give the Mets the the opportunity to be place in the role of favorite to appear in the World Series.
Trust me on this one, I live in Vegas and the Mets have not been the NL favorite to reach the World Series since I have been here since 1994. They weren't even the favorites in 2006. The Cubs were.
The Mets are reactive in their acquisitions satisfied to fill their holes. In New York, that's not good enough. Mets fans everywhere have spoken loud and clear with regard to Manny Ramirez, Orlando Hudson, Derek Lowe, Ben Sheets etc, etc, etc.
If the Wilpon's want to use the Madoff ponzie scheme or Citi Bank's incompetence for their inability to make this team a World Series favorite, then put the team on the market and sell it to a group of individuals who are willing to bite the bullet and win.
Does anybody out there believe for one minute that if Mark Cuban were to own the Mets they would be in the same situation they find themselves in with less than two weeks before pitchers and catchers arrive in Port St. Lucie?
If you do then you are kidding yourself that the 2009 Mets are significantly better than the 2008 Mets or more important, either the 2008 or 2009 Phillies, so you had better wake up.
It's going to be a long year. Sell the New York Mets, Fred Wilpon. You don't have the guts or the balls to own a team in the greatest sports city in the world.
