Celtics vs. 76ers Game 6: Kevin Garnett's Trash Talk Will Motivate Young Sixers
The young Philadelphia 76ers just got the bulletin board material they needed as they attempt to tie up their second-round NBA playoff series against the Boston Celtics.
NBA trash-talker extraordinaire Kevin Garnett has called out the fans in Philadelphia.
As the series returns to the City of Brotherly Love on Wednesday night for Game 6, there will be no love lost for a Sixers team fighting for their playoff lives.
If the rowdy Philadelphia crowd needed any extra motivation, trying to get under the skin of the emotional Garnett will be a task the fans won't take lightly.
They will bring their A-game.
Garnett told the Boston Globe about the fans in the TD Garden and how they compare to Philadelphia's crowds:
""Not even close," said Garnett. "You got fans and then you got fair-weather fans. Take that how you want."
"
Garnett will either look like a genius or a complete fool for his comments. It all depends on if he and his teammates show up and close out the series.
For the Sixers, it's all about making the Celtics run.
The aging Celtics can't keep up if the younger and faster 76ers stick to their game plan. For Philadelphia to win, it must continue using the fast break and stretch the game into a full-court affair as often as possible.
There is no doubt the crowd will be into this game emotionally, so the 76ers will have all the fuel they will need to shut down the tenacious Celtics. Philly has to come into this game with the same attitude and moxie that Garnett has shown throughout the postseason.
If the Sixers come out fast and never let up, they will send this series to a Game 7.
